TaxCalc 2011 Release Notes
Version 11.16.01 - Released on 22nd December 2011
The following issues have been addressed:
Corporation Tax (CT600)
- Resolved an issue within the print-out of the Capital Allowance Calculator where FY2011 AIA claims were not appearing.
- Resolved an iXBRL submission issue that occurred if using the Capital Allowance Calculator and when there were multiple Short Life assets or disposals of Expensive cars (some other minor related issues also addressed).
Please note that the above issues will result in a necessary change to the IR Mark on any existing CT600 returns. - Resolved a submission issue within the Charities section (CT600E)
Version 11.12.02 - Released on 12th October 2011
The following issues have been addressed:
- Removal of online filing warning message regarding FY11 Corporation Tax submissions as they can now be filed online.
- Removal of the attachment of an MRR Worksheet PDF to Corporation Tax online submissions.
- Removal of "0" values in boxes 16 and 17 of the CT600 where there is a loss in the "Chargeable Gains" calculations. This was preventing online filing in such cases.
- Fixed rare problem with Non Residence (SA109) whereby a country code entered through one of the wizards could not be removed from the return.
Version 11.12.01 - Released on 25th August 2011
The following issues have been addressed:
- Corporation Tax:
MRR Calculations for FY11 have been amended with the correct 2011 fraction. Prior to this update, the 2011 Corporation tax MRR calculations were not correct. Although these returns cannot be filed online until HMRC update their own systems in October, it should be noted that any FY11 CT600 returns that involve an MRR calculation will automatically correct themselves after this update and this could result in a different calculation of liability. - Added an R & D loss surrendered box to the Computations for use when required
- Fixed an validation error appearing on CT600 box 172 (Capital Allowances) when it should not.
- Fixed issue within the Capital Allowance calculator when adding new WDV entries. The grid required refreshing before values would populate.
- Fixed display error on HS300 Non Residence calculation summary (display only)
- Fixed issue with SA103 (self employment) where losses brought forward and set off was not always calculating correctly, resulting in an error, and could not be changed by the user
- Fixed typo within the What If (class 4 label was reading 8% instead of 9%)
- Fixed rare Printing issue
- Fixed issue whereby SA100 Summaries were not always appearing automatically on PDF print
Version 11.10.01 - Released on 27th May 2011

Dividend Database enabled (Requires separate license and purchase)
- Available for SA100, SA800 & SA900
The following enhancements have been added:
- Improvements in the import from Keytime Software
- Importing from PTP improvements (added CGT Losses)
- Chargeable Gains attachments in CT600 now added to Tax Computation and tagged in iXBRL
- Validations to notify user if XBRL accounts attached are mal-formed
The following issues have been addressed:
- Display issue on HS300 when no liability is present
- Validation message regarding long period of accounts showing in error
- Correction to AIA Validation message in Capital Allowances manual grid on CT600
- Repayment details being excluded from XML on SA900
- Printing issue on SA110 HMRC Calculation Notes (Some fields not showing on PDF)
- Capital Gains Data clearing from CGT pages when certain values used when claiming entrepreneurs relief on post 22 June transactions
Important Notes:
Due to additions to the CT600 Tax Computation in the addition of chargeable gains XBRL tags the IR Mark on CT600's may change following this update.
Version 11.08.02 - released on 11th April 2011
The latest HMRC Notes and Help Sheets are now included within the software and can be accessed through the Help system
The following enhancements have been added:
- Improved validation messages for accounts and computations regarding accounting period dates longer than 12 months.
The following issues have been addressed:
- Presentational issue on SA110 Notes regarding the Capital Gains Tax Boxes
- Incorrect dates on Validation message regarding 10% and 20% Cars purchase dates.
- Incorrect Value being used on box FSE48 validation message.
- Auto population of R185 tax credit still using 40% tax rate rather than 50% tax rate.
- Importing capital allowances in a CT600 when file created in TaxCalc 2010 prior to version 10.12.04 released on 13th July 2010 and not reopened and saved in a later version.
- Presentational issue with CGT Final Summary in losses used section.
TaxCalc 2011 Launch - version 11.06.00 - released on 29th March 2011
The focus of the 2011 annual update release is the change in rates, allowances, forms and filing for the 2010/2011 tax year:
- All 2011 legislation is now incorporated in the software
- All 2011 rates and allowances have been applied in the software
- All 2011 forms and supplementary pages have been included
- All 2011 filing requirements and validations are implemented
As well as the compliance changes and updates to on-line filing and associated validations we have included a number of enhancements including:
- New screens for the ‘File by Internet results’ section
- Balancing allowances and balancing charges will now be calculated automatically for single asset pools
Important Notes:
- Due to the date of release some of the HMRC Helpsheets are outstanding as they were not available from HMRC; these will be included in the May TaxCalc release.
- Due to the date of release the Dividend Database and Value Added Module have not been included as the full tax year data was not available. This will be released at the start of May.
