Three changes have gone into Engager.app this month: default services on new clients, two new ways to filter your deal board, and clickable email addresses in more places across the app. None of them are big. All of them remove a click you'd otherwise repeat a few hundred times a month.
Here's what's changed, and why we bothered;
Setting up a new client usually means the same few clicks, every time. Create the client, then go and switch on the services you already know they'll need.
Now you don't have to.
A service can be marked as automatically enabled for chosen client types. Create a Limited Company, for example, and Accounts, CS01 and CT600 are already switched on, ready to go.
You're in control of exactly how this works. Set the defaults per client type, based on what your practice actually does for that kind of client, and let Engager remember it for you.
The benefit is a small one multiplied by a large number:
If you haven't set your defaults yet, it's worth five minutes with your practice manager to get them right. Once they're in place, every new client benefits.
The deal board is where a lot of practices spend their morning, checking what's moving, what's stuck, and what's finished. Until now, seeing the full picture meant clicking through each stage in turn.
Two new filters change that:
If you want to know what's still live, one click gets you there. If you want to review what's finished, whether that's a win worth celebrating or a loss worth understanding, one click gets you that too.
It's a small addition, but it changes how a deal board actually gets used day to day. Instead of stage-by-stage checking, you get a genuine view of the whole pipeline, at whatever level of detail you need.
This is the smallest change on the list, and possibly the one you'll notice the most.
Email addresses are now clickable in more places across Engager, including the client list and the client form. Click one, and it opens a pre-filled compose window, ready to go.
No more copying an email address, switching to your email client, and pasting it in. No more mistyped addresses either, since you're never retyping them by hand.
It sounds minor because it is. But it's also one of those small frictions that adds up over a working week, especially if you're moving between client records and correspondence all day. Removing it means one less interruption to your flow.
The three changes above are all about removing small, repeated clicks. This one's a bit bigger.
We've rebuilt the Engager.app help centre from the ground up. Guides are clearer, search actually finds what you're looking for, and there's a new way to get answers without digging through articles at all.
That new addition is Ask Engager, our AI assistant built into the help centre. Instead of searching for the right guide, you can just ask your question in plain English and get a direct answer, based on how Engager.app actually works.
A few reasons it's worth a look:
If you've used the help centre before and found it hard to find what you needed, this is worth another visit. And if a question ever comes up mid-task, Ask Engager is built for exactly that moment, no need to stop what you're doing and go searching.
Engager.app isn't chasing headline features every release. Most of what practices tell us slows them down isn't a missing capability, it's a small, repeated bit of admin that nobody designed on purpose. It's just accumulated, click by click, over time.
That's the thinking behind this release. None of these three changes will make a case study. All of them make a genuine difference to the hundred small tasks that fill a working day in practice.
We'd rather ship steady, useful improvements like this regularly than save everything up for occasional big launches. It means Engager.app keeps getting easier to use, in ways you'll feel even if you never read a release note about them.
These three changes came from the same place all our updates do: practices telling us where their day gets slower than it needs to be.
If there's a click you find yourself repeating, a step that feels like it shouldn't exist, or a small frustration you've stopped noticing because you're used to it, we want to hear about it. That's exactly the kind of thing that ends up in the next release.
Get in touch with your account manager, or drop us a note, and let us know what's on your list. We'll keep making Engager.app easier to use, one small change at a time.
Ready to see the changes for yourself? Log in to Engager.app and check your service defaults for each client type, they'll only take a few minutes to set up, and they'll save you clicks on every client after that.
