What is iXBRL?
iXBRL stands for Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language. It is an electronic filing format - a computer language used in the electronic filing of company accounts.
Why do I need iXBRL?
HMRC has stated that Corporation Tax returns, which also include the computations and a set of accounts, must be transmitted to them in the iXBRL format for all accounting periods ending 31st March 2010 onwards. HMRC are no longer accepting PDFs.
How does the TaxCalc iXBRL Conversion Service work?
The Conversion Service involves three stages.
1. Complete your set of accounts in our tailored iXBRL template (this is a Microsoft® Excel document) and save the file.
2. Upload your accounts file to our dedicated Conversion Service. This will take up to one minute to convert your accounts into the iXBRL format.
3. Download and save the converted file. You may then attach this file to a TaxCalc return (or other tax software).
