How to enable the TaxCalc internal PDF viewer

TaxCalc have implemented a tool, TaxCalc Viewer, to handle report output. This tool does not rely on the presence of Adobe Reader. If you are experiencing problems with the viewing/printing of returns in TaxCalc, it is recommended that you switch to the TaxCalc Viewer. Please refer to the instructions below on how to enable and use the TaxCalc viewer.

Practice users

  • On the home screen (or Practice Manager) select View > PDF Viewing > Use TaxCalc Viewer. This will turn on the TaxCalc viewer.
  • Extra options are available if you open the same menu option in Tax Return Production, where you can choose between Internal Preview or New Window:
    • Internal Preview opens the document inside the TaxCalc Application.
    • New Window will open a new TaxCalc Viewer window.

Individual users

  • Open the year for the return you wish to print: View > PDF Viewing > Use TaxCalc Viewer.
  • From that option you can then choose between Internal Preview or New Window.
    • Internal Preview opens the document inside the TaxCalc Application.
    • New Window will open a new TaxCalc Viewer window.
